Product Overview

Roland TrueVIS XP-640 High-Speed Eco-Solvent Printer

An unbeatable, feature-packed TrueVIS Pro roll-to-roll printer that delivers the highest output in its class!

The TrueVIS XP-640 sets a new standard in the eco-solvent print-only market, delivering both exceptional print quality and outstanding productivity. As the Pro-level addition to the award-winning TrueVIS series, the XP-640 redefines performance with its True Rich Color settings and a newly developed Red ink, enabling an expanded color gamut that produces vibrant reds, rich oranges, and challenging corporate colors with remarkable accuracy.

Capable of delivering stunning high-resolution (1200 x 1800 dpi) prints at twice the speed of its predecessor, the VF2-640, the XP-640 is engineered for high-volume, high-quality printing, making it a leader in its class.

Also setting the XP-640 apart from competitive models is its simple operation and incredible versatility. Designed to make vivid, natural color reproduction easier than ever, it features advanced tools within its included VersaWorks 6 RIP software, such as an Approximate Color Finder, that allows for precise color-matching with minimal effort. Perfect for signage and branding, the XP-640 produces eye-catching graphics that captivate audiences and elevate business impact.

Roland DG continues its legacy of innovation with the XP-640, inspiring creativity and productivity for print professionals seeking to achieve extraordinary results.

Product Features:

  • Enhanced Productivity: New Dual Staggered Head Configuration. An all-new dual piezo printhead design provides a platform for production-level speeds, while maintaining the output quality needed to be competitive in today’s PSP market.
  • New Fast-Drying 500ml TrueVIS TH Inks: In addition to production-level throughput, TH inks are fast drying, enabling same-day lamination for high volume users. This allows for a more efficient workflow and quicker job turnaround.
  • Expanded Color Gamut Choice: TrueVIS TH Ink is formulated to produce the rich, vibrant, natural color that the TrueVIS Series is known for. Thenew ink system helps ensure production level throughput and is available in a dual CMYK configuration, or the 8-color expanded gamut set that increases both creative opportunities and co or-matching capabilities.

The Roland TrueVIS XP-640 Printer and Cutter is designed to excel in a wide range of applications, including:

  • Signage and Graphics Industry: Banners, backlit displays, tradeshow graphics, vehicle wraps, and decals.
  • Fine Art and Photography: High-quality art reproductions, fine art prints, and gallery displays.
  • Retail and Point of Sale: Posters, in-store displays, window graphics, and promotional materials.
  • Décor and Interior Design: Wall murals, custom wallpapers, and decorative canvas prints.
  • Industrial and Commercial Printing: Packaging prototypes, industrial labels, and custom promotional items.

Wide Color Gamut:

The XP-640 delivers exceptional image quality with an expanded color gamut, thanks to the inclusion of special colors like Orange, Green, and the newly developed Red ink. This innovation ensures vivid reproduction of critical sign graphics colors, such as Red and Orange, while also improving the accuracy of corporate colors that were previously challenging to achieve. Red is a naturally attention-grabbing color that enhances the vibrancy and intensity of printed graphics. With the addition of a true Red spot color, its easier than ever to reproduce even the most difficult corporate logo colors. With the Approximate Color Finder feature in the XP- 640’s VersaWorks 6 RIP software, users can efficiently match colors with precision, streamlining workflows and enhancing output consistency. This results in vibrant, impactful graphics that meet the highest demands of the signage and branding industries.

7-inch LCD Control Panel:

The XP-640 features an intuitive 7-inch LCD touchscreen control panel that allows quick and simple access to media setup and other menu options. Nozzle check and automated calibration functions can also be accessed using the touchscreen, allowing for a streamlined workflow and increased convenience. The touchscreen control panel makes it easy toaccess and select custom settings for each media at startup, including all calibration settings and remaining media amount. Easily operate the take-up system from the home screen and get a real-time view on print heater, external dryer, and job remaining print times.

Automated Media Calibrations:

One of the innovative features added into the newly designed control panel is the ability to execute media gap adjustments (also known as bidirectional and uni-directional adjustments). Users can now make these important adjustments using the touchscreen, saving time and maximizing efficiency. In addition, the feed calibration adjustment can be printed, scanned, and corrected for accuracy in the same operation. This is a great time-saver for making finely tuned adjustments when changing out media from one application to the next. The user can simply walk away while the printer does the work.

Included Media Take-Up Reel:

The TrueVIS XP-640 boasts advancements that optimize ease of use, including innovative media handling features. The TU4-64 automatic take-up system is designed to accommodate a variety of media widths. Tension mode provides incredible media stability when printing roll-to-roll applications. Pinch rollers, which hold the media in place while printing, can be raised individually with a simple flip of a lever. Raising or lowering a pinch roller during operation will not cancel out a job. In many cases, this may save the user valuable time and materials, allowing a print to finish by making a minor adjustment. New perforated sheet cut function makes simple to add perforations when outputting a large volume of printed materials to the take-up system.

Roland DG Connect:

Roland DG Connect provides users with a dashboard view of all printers in their production environments. This app offers powerful, easy-to-use tools that minimize downtime by tracking necessary maintenance and consumable replacements, while supplying real-time statistics on all printers being used. A business dashboard allows for monitoring printer output and calculating overall job costs. Roland DG Connect is a constantly evolving system where new time-saving and convenience features will be added on a regular basis.
