The Roland TrueVis MG2-640 64" UV LED Printer/Cutter combines next-generation productivity, premium UV effects and precision contour cutting in a versatile wide-format production platform. Building on Roland DG's proven MG platform, the MG2 Series introduces newly developed industrial piezo printheads and advanced printing technology that deliver print speeds up to twice those of previous MG models while maintaining the outstanding image quality expected from TrueVis.
The MG2-640 produces vibrant graphics, smooth gradients, fine details and premium special effects at resolutions up to 1,800 dpi. Roland DG's True Rich Color settings combine with advanced UV inks to deliver consistent, professional output across a wide variety of graphics applications.
Optional Red and Orange inks extend the achievable color gamut beyond standard CMYK, helping reproduce more brand colors accurately while providing broader Pantone coverage and richer, more impactful output.
Take UV graphics beyond conventional printing with up to five ink layers produced in a single pass. The MG2-640 can produce premium textures, White underprints, reverse-printed graphics and spot Gloss effects while eliminating the need to reverse-feed media between individual layers.
Single-pass multi-layer production helps improve registration accuracy and reduce production time while minimizing the risk of media misalignment or jams. Combined with the integrated take-up system, this capability also supports continuous multi-layer production and reliable unattended operation.
Roland DG's integrated print-and-cut technology allows the MG2-640 to print and precision contour cut graphics in one seamless workflow. Produce everything from custom decals and stickers to high-volume labels, window graphics and specialty signage without transferring the job to a separate finishing device.
Cutting speeds range from 0.39 to 11.8 in./sec with blade force from 30 to 500 gf, providing clean, repeatable results for detailed graphics and complex contours.
Designed for professional wide-format production, the MG2-640 accepts media from 13.2" to 64" wide and provides a maximum printing and cutting width of 62.9". It accommodates rolls up to 9.8" in diameter and 99 lb., giving shops the capacity to tackle everything from small decals and labels to large-format signage, displays and window graphics.
The MG2 Series uses Roland EUV5EPI UV inks in high-capacity 1,000 mL pouches. The larger ink format reduces the frequency of ink changes during longer production runs and can reduce running costs by up to 40% compared with previous 500 mL configurations.
Available configurations combine CMYK process colors with optional high-opacity White, Gloss, Orange and Red inks, allowing businesses to configure the MG2-640 around their preferred balance of color gamut, specialty effects and production requirements.
The MG2-640 incorporates intelligent automation throughout the production workflow. Automatic media loading, one-touch media calibration, Direct Print functionality, integrated print and cut, and intelligent media take-up work together to reduce setup time and operator intervention.
An intuitive 7-inch touchscreen provides convenient printer control, while intelligent maintenance features and high-capacity ink pouches help maximize uptime during demanding production schedules.
The MG2-640 includes Roland VersaWorks 7, providing intuitive job management, advanced color tools and powerful production controls. VersaWorks 7 also supports Roland DG and Graphtec cutting workflows, allowing businesses to integrate dedicated cutters when production requirements call for separate print-and-cut workflows.
Roland DG Connect provides remote printer monitoring, production insights, proactive maintenance tools and real-time device diagnostics. Monitor printer status and production activity while gaining greater visibility into equipment performance and workflow efficiency.
The Roland TrueVis MG2 Series is backed by Roland DGA customer service and support and includes a one-year manufacturer's warranty. Registration within 60 days of purchase and exclusive, continuous use of Roland DGA-approved inks are required to qualify for warranty coverage.
