Product Overview
The GFP 255C 55" Cold Laminator gives sign shops, print providers and graphics producers an efficient alternative to finishing large graphics by hand. Designed for pressure-sensitive materials, the 255C handles overlamination, graphic mounting, board pre-coating, pre-mask and other everyday finishing applications without the added cost or complexity of a heated roller system.
With a 55" laminating width, variable speeds up to 13 ft/min, 4.5" rubber rollers, Quick-Grip film shafts and a 1" mounting gap, the GFP 255C provides professional finishing capability in a practical size for shops working primarily with 54" and narrower graphics.
The GFP 255C is purpose-built for pressure-sensitive overlaminates, mounting adhesives, application tapes and other PSA films. With no heated roller system to manage, setup and operation remain straightforward while powered rollers provide more consistent pressure and production speed than manual finishing methods.
For shops that primarily use pressure-sensitive films, the 255C provides the essential capabilities needed for professional finishing without paying for heat-assist functionality they may not require.
A 55" maximum laminating width makes the GFP 255C an excellent finishing partner for many common 54" wide format printing workflows. Shops can laminate signs, posters, vehicle graphics, floor graphics, displays and other commercial output while maintaining a smaller footprint than a 63" finishing system.
Powered operation with variable speeds up to 13 ft/min helps reduce finishing time while providing consistent results from job to job.
Forward and reverse operation gives the operator additional control during setup and production, while the included foot pedal allows hands-free machine operation when precise positioning of graphics is required.
Large 4.5" rubber main rollers provide smooth, consistent pressure across wide graphics. A single hand-wheel adjustment controls roller pressure and gap, allowing the machine to be configured for different films, graphics and mounting substrates.
The GFP 255C goes beyond roll lamination with a variable roller gap that opens to 1". This allows printed graphics and pressure-sensitive adhesives to be mounted to compatible rigid boards and substrates.
Mounting capability makes the 255C a versatile finishing system for signs, POP displays, trade show graphics, presentation boards, photographs and other rigid graphic applications.
GFP's 3" aluminum Quick-Grip supply shafts simplify loading and changing pressure-sensitive films. Top and bottom unwind positions provide flexibility for different materials and workflows, while single-knob tension adjustment gives the operator straightforward control over film feed.
An integrated chain-drive liner rewind collects the release liner as pressure-sensitive laminate is applied. This keeps waste controlled during production and helps create a cleaner, more efficient workflow during longer laminating jobs.
Note: The liner rewind collects release liner from the laminate. It is not a motorized rear output rewind for collecting finished graphics.
The included foot pedal allows operators to control the laminator while keeping both hands available to position, align and guide graphics. This is particularly useful when starting laminate, mounting individual prints or working with larger cut sheets.
Professional on-site installation and operator training is available from USCutter for the GFP 255C. Installation and training can help your team get the machine properly set up while learning basic operation, material loading and pressure-sensitive lamination workflows.
The GFP 255C is an excellent fit for print and sign shops that primarily use pressure-sensitive overlaminates and work with 54" and narrower graphics. It combines powered variable-speed operation, large rubber rollers, Quick-Grip shafts, liner rewind and rigid-board mounting capability without the additional cost of a heated laminating system.
Compared with applying large laminates and mounting adhesives manually, the 255C can reduce finishing time while improving pressure consistency, alignment and repeatability from job to job.
The GFP 255C and 263C share the same core 200 Series cold laminating platform. The primary difference is working width: the 255C provides 55" of laminating capacity, while the 263C expands capacity to 63".
For shops primarily finishing 54" and narrower graphics, the 255C provides the essential capabilities of the 200 Series in a smaller and more economical package. Shops regularly working with 60" media should consider the wider GFP 263C.
Both GFP models provide 55" wide format finishing capacity, but they address different production requirements. The GFP 255C is designed for straightforward cold pressure-sensitive lamination and mounting. The GFP 355TH adds a heated top roller, faster 20 ft/min production and a rear output rewind for shops that benefit from heat-assisted and roll-to-roll finishing.
If your workflow primarily involves pressure-sensitive laminates, mounting adhesives and pre-mask, the 255C provides professional powered finishing without paying for features your applications may not require.
Because the GFP 255C does not require a heated roller, electrical requirements are minimal. The machine operates on standard 110/120V electrical service and consumes only approximately 38 watts, making it easy to integrate into most existing sign and print production environments.
