PrismCut Etching Tool

Note: For the optimal Etching/Embossing experience, we recommend the feature set available in VinylMaster LTR and higher software versions for PC Users.  Only VinylMaster allows for etching in one contiguous line so that the etching tool can remain down during the entire etching process.​

Use the PrismCut Etching Tool to create scratches, or engravings into trophy plaques, dog tags, charm bracelets, plastic and soft metals. First, securely attach the material to be etched to the cutting mat using tape or adhesive so that the item does not move at all. Any movement will likely result in a failed etching.

Typical artwork uses diagonal lines within the design being etched, but other patterns can be used as well - whatever looks best to you. Setting the cutter software to use a lower speed and force with multiple passes allows you to etch away a little bit at a time if you are concerned about leaving pock marks.

In your software, blade offset and overcut values should be set to zero when engraving.
